Bite City Grill

Montgomery Plaza

Patio view from our seats of the Montgomery Plaza sign.

Montgomery Plaza is a shopping mall and luxury condominium located on West 7th Street just west of downtown Fort Worth. The building was constructed in 1928 and is now one of the hot spots to hang out in Ft. Worth. Many different shops and restaurants have opened up in the past few years in the plaza such as; Pei Wei, Yogurtland, Boomer Jacks, Starbucks and the newest restaurant is Bite City Grill.

This is the back of their menu. The actually menu was held on
 with rubber bands. How clever.

My lemonade and cocktail menu
Bite City Grill is a Modern American cuisine with global influence and craft cocktails. Everyone I know has been talking about how wonderful this place is so I couldn't wait to try it. I kept hearing such great reviews about the restaurant and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

You really can't go wrong with anything you order. Everything on the menu looked delicious, even the menu itself was cool. (Above picture.) I asked the waiter what he would recommend, well I have never seen someone struggle so much to pick just one thing. He went on about how no matter what, you will be satisfied.

I went with my sister, Kristin, and we really like to eat. So we tried a large variety of food. We had a flatbread pizza, beef carpaccio, charred octopus, steamed mussels and some duck. Quite a range of food, huh? We could have eaten more but wanted to save room for dessert.

The drinks looked fabulous too, the craft cocktails are inspired by characteristics of each Zodiac sign which was so much fun to read. I was boring and just got a lemonade but it was great. Just the presentation of the lemonade was beautiful.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I was very happy with my food and the atmosphere. Our view was lovely and it was such a peaceful night. They also were not very busy because we went on a Wednesday night so we had the best service. Below is a picture of the inside of the restaurant. Isn't it so cute? I love the vibe.

So what is your Zodiac sign? (Bite City Grill has the perfect cocktail waiting for you..)

Trivia Night

Every Tuesday and Thursday night Magnolia Motor Lounge hosts a trivia night called Think and Drink Trivia. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Before attending trivia night make sure to gather your team. There is no limit to how many members you have, oh and did I mention that it is a FREE event!! I went with my boyfriend and a group of our close friends. We had a total of 8 people.

How It Works:

So like I said, you start by gather your team. Once you are there you get to create your team name. Our team name was "Cry me a Joan Rivers." (Let me just say that I loved Joan Rivers and I feel as thought she would have appreciated out team name seeing as she was a fabulous comedian and had a great sense of humor.)

Two of my teammates, Emma and Gilbert
There are six different topics with eight questions within each topic. Our topics that night were:
     - Common Knowledge
     - Alternate movie titles
     - Two states boarder this state
     - Last eight teams to win the super bowl
     - Name that artist and the song title
     - Which DFW brewery is this beer from

You write down all of your answers on a sheet of paper provided by Magnolia Motor Lounge. After each round, the host would come around and pick up our paper. The host would then tally up the scores and let everyone know who was winning. He also read off all the different team names, which was hilarious. There were some really funny and clever names.

It was really such a fun night to hang out with friends and answer these questions together in a group. I was completely terrible at the super bowl round and the brewery round but I made up for it on the artist and song title round and the alternate movie titles.

We actually ended up winning 3rd place. Whoop Whoop!

I would definitely recommend getting a group of friends and heading to Magnolia Motor Lounge off West 7th St. for a fun night of laughing, drinking and a little thinking too.

Do you think you would be any good at the trivia topics for that night?

Latin Fest

Downtown Fort Worth always has fun festivals all through out the year. Today they are having a free event for the whole family brought to us by Tejano Gold Radio. This is a family fun event to go to to support great music and culture.

This event is going on right now so don't miss out!

Want to know more?

Latin Fest is located downtown Fort Worth by the convention center on Houston and 9th Street. It is opened from 1p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, September 14th. There is one stage set up with live latin music with tables and chairs set up in the streets and grass. There are also food and drink stands and art n' craft venders. There are tons of families hanging out, eating and dancing to the music.

Joe Flores is here with his wife and daughter, sitting in the lawn and enjoying the live music.

"This is the perfect day to have an outdoor festival," Flores said. "My daughter loves dancing to the music and my wife and I just enjoy sitting back and relaxing."

This really is the perfect day to be outside. The sun is shining with clouds in the sky. There is a slight breeze but you would be comfortable wearing flip flops. This is one of the best seasons in Fort Worth.

There are a few different food and drink stands. They have funnel cakes, Louisiana BBQ and a few food trucks. They also have different adult beverage stands, soda machines and Pineapple Express. (which is a smoothie stand.)

There are about 15 different venders to shop with. There are things like shoes, purses, soap, desserts, toys and much more. There is also a whole kids section where the kids can walk through a fire truck and learn safety tips, do arts n' crafts and get balloon animals.

Overall, this is a smaller locals event that is fun for the entire family. Everyone can find something fun and exciting to do.

Check out my twitter and see some of my live tweets from the events.

If you are able to attend let me know what you think. If you weren't able to go, don't you think it sounds fun?

Rediscovering Ft. Worth

I've lived in Fort Worth my whole life. Well minus the two years I lived in Arlington but does that really count? It's only 30 minutes away... Since the 90's, Fort Worth has changed a lot. A lot, a lot! There are so many places I use to go that aren't there anymore and it seems like there are always new stores and restaurants opening. It's really pretty exciting!

Blogging Goal:

My goal for this blog is to rediscover Fort Worth. I want to experience new adventures within the city and even rediscover things I haven't done for years that have probably changed quite a bit.

I will be graduating in December and I am wanting to move to another state for a while to venture off for a bit. I am really hoping that this blog helps me learn more about my home city and I can take advantage of what Fort Worth has to offer while I am still here. I want to have fun with this blog and include my friends and family in my adventure.

Some Ideas For Future Posts:

I love being outside and active. Anything from walking to biking to rollerblading. Fort Worth has a ten year plan to make the Trinity River a much more user friendly and active place to be. I really want to get out a experience all the Trinity has to offer so far.

I also live with my sister and we have sister dates weekly. We are guilty of always going back to our favorite restaurants and not trying new ones. My goal is to start trying new places and adding to our list of favorites.

I have a great group of girlfriends that love to go out, so I will be including them in my blogging. Also my family and boyfriend are a huge part of my life so I will be bringing them along as well.

Let Me Hear From You:

If anyone has any ideas of places to go or recommendations, please let me know. I love getting feedback and ideas for new adventures.

I am going out to discover my first event later tonight. There is a trivia night going on at Magnolia Motor Lounge on West 7th Street. Check back soon to read about it.
